Fruit

I want to smell you and think about how you’ll taste;

I want to gently pierce your skin with my teeth;

I want to slowly enjoy my first bite;

I want to lick up the juices as they ooze out of my mouth;

I want to bite deeper into the flesh;

I want to feel the different textures across my tongue;

I want to nibble until I reach the core;

And then I want to go back to the garden

and climb the tree again.

Possibility

When the numbness fades, I wake up and

remember possibility awaits.

My ears will hear a voice, I must hold

for one more note.

My skin will crave a touch, that rouses

every part of my being.

My lips will part into a reflexive smile,

whenever you are near.

My eyes will shed a joyous drop,

as you call my name.

My breath will be labored as your

aroma washes over me.

My soul will open a door, where your

heart can live.

Oh as the numbness fades, I wake up and

remember possibility awaits.
